When to Rebuild

  • Gear crunching or grinding (especially 2nd/3rd)
  • Whining or rumbling that changes with speed or load
  • Popping out of gear under acceleration or on overrun
  • Heavy, notchy, or vague shift feel
  • Oil leaks from driveshaft seals or casings

Diagnosis & Assessment

We start with a full inspection to confirm the fault and scope the work required:

  • Road test and shift quality evaluation
  • Fluid inspection for glitter/debris and contamination
  • Clutch, linkage/cables, and mount checks
  • End-float and bearing noise assessment

Our Rebuild Process

  1. Removal & strip-down: Clean bench teardown with parts tagged and documented.
  2. Inspection & measurement: Gears, hubs, synchros, forks, shafts, and bearings measured to spec.
  3. Parts replacement: Bearings, seals, synchro rings, worn gears/hubs/forks as needed.
  4. Reassembly: Correct clearances, preload and backlash set per manufacturer specification.
  5. Seal & refit: New seals, RTV/gaskets, fresh fluid filled to correct grade and volume.
  6. Testing: Static run-up, road test, and final QC report.
